I rather like that title, don’t you? If only it were true more often.
If you hadn’t read on my Facebook page, I have headed off for a slightly delayed honeymoon/research trip in Scotland! It has been a while since I took a big trip, most of my recent getaways were somewhat close to home and involved family and/or work. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, mind you, but I often get a big case of wanderlust and really want to travel.
I enjoy all parts of it – the planning, booking flights and hotel rooms, making lists of things we want to see and do, the flight delays, the good and not-so-good meals, and the new stamps on my passport. Even when things don’t go quite as planned, it just adds to the experience.
While we are in Scotland, we are headed to castles and ruins and the bustling city of Edinburgh and the mysterious and beautiful Loch Ness. I can’t wait to eavesdrop on colorful conversations and join in a few others. I look forward to reading and hearing about more legends and letting my mind transport me back in time as I stand on stone floors that have been there for hundreds of years.
Most of all, I am looking forward to spending this time with Hot Cop so he and I can share in the adventure…and finding more inspiration for my books!
Do you love to travel? What is your favorite travel memory? How about the worst?
