Before thinking about New Year’s Resolutions, I like to take a few minutes between the holidays to ponder the year. Here are some great things about 2012:
I lost 7 lbs (and hope I won’t find them again any time soon)
I shared another awesome year with Hot Cop
Seeing my daughter accepted to Sarah Lawrence College
Watching my son win Rookie of the Year at the Skip Barber Summer Series!
I finished my Regency Indiana Jones homage with The Taming of a Scottish Princess, followed by a return to my Regency historical romantic comedy roots with the Duchess Diaries and spending three weeks on the NYT list, and two weeks on the extended list (squeeee!)
Some of my author friends and I got together to launch Lunch Hour Love Stories and I released my first self published co-authored short story, too.
Wow, when I think about it, it was a darn great year!
What great things happened in your life in 2012?

I learned the knee pain I’ve got isn’t because it’s broken or blown. I have arthritis. I went to the RWA Literacy Signing and had at least a hundred fan geek moments. I flew for the first time in thirty years and saw something wonderful. One more thing…I may have lost 20 pounds
2012 was awesome for us as well:
I beat all the boys and won my fantasy football league for the first time – cha-ching $$
took 2 family vacations, the first ones in 6 years!!
didn’t have an emergency room visit or teenage car accident
found the pair of boots I’ve been lusting after at 75% off & free shipping in my size IN STOCK online
hail storm got me a new free roof on my house
family & friends are all healthy – added 2 new great-nieces to the clan
lost 27 pounds and kept them (mostly) off – dropped 3 sizes, back in single digits
finally got my 10-year anniversary band for Christmas (we’ve been married 18, lol, but it was worth the wait!!)
Sending good wishes & blessings to everyone for 2013!! xoxo
Hi Karen.
You’ve been a busy lady on 2012, and congrats on all accomplishments.
There have been several changes at work with me taking on the roll of assistant for the Executive Education Director, learning Moodle grading system, gaining a new Admin lady and walking her through the processes we have at the school and having a little time with Semper Fi. I have learned new authors and websites to check out which has been awesome. I did a few home improvements. I am truly blessed with family, and wonderful friends.
I hope everyone has a wonderful 2013.
My son graduated with his Master’s in Library Science Information Studies in May and was offered a full time job at the library at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in July. So thankful for that when so many folks are looking for work.
Hubby and I celebrated 27 years of marriage. Didn’t do anything special to celebrate because we were both sick as dogs at the time. We’ll get around to it eventually.
Moved above mentioned son to Kansas City, Mo for his job. Got to see a part of our country that I’d never seen before. Been all the way up to Rhode Island, down to Miami and out to Los Angeles, but haven’t been to the middle part of the USA.
Family is all in reasonably good health in spite of aging issues. Husband works in the coal mine and has never been seriously injured in 35 years. Praise the Lord!
Congratulations for all your wonderful accomplishments! Can’t wait to read the next installment of the Duchess’s Diaries. The first one was a hoot!
Blessings to you and your family!
Happy New Year!
It sounds like you’ve had some great experiences this year. I started out the year with my first book being published, and in November nearly ended it with a second release. I watched my son grow and mature. I learned to let go of the negative things in the past that have been dragging me down and am trying to learn to be more adventurous and daring in choices and decisions I make in my personal life. All in all, I’m glad to see the turn of a new year.
