The new Harry Potter movie comes out and I’m so excited that I’m tingling all over. Seriously, I LOVE this series. Why? Because it’s about magic and I want some.

Here’s the latest trailer:

I’ve dreamed of having magical powers ever since I was a kid and wanted to turn my oldest sister into a toad. Or a lizard. Or just a gold fish in a tank.

I’m not picky.

All I know is that every time I see a story or a movie about magic, I think to myself, “I want me some of that.”

Of course, to be honest, I wouldn’t be a noble sort of wizard like dear Harry. I’m not a bit interested in fighting off half dead demon wizards. I mean, if I HAD to, I’d do it – I’m not a putz. But if the world wasn’t in dire peril and I didn’t have to fight, I’d be perfectly content to use my magic for personal good.

Like to mow my yard.

Clean my dishes.

Do my laundry.

Make brownies with cream cheese icing.

Whip up a sexy Scot to fan me while I write.

You know … the necessities.

I don’t know if you’re going to watch Harry Potter or not, but if you do, pause before the movie begins and imagine me in my hammock in my backyard, being fanned by a hunky Scotsman in a kilt, while I use my wand to conjure up self-propelled brooms, self-washing laundry, and whipping up plates and plates of yummy eclairs out of thin air.

And know this — if you were here, I’d share them all with you. That’s the beauty of true magic; there’s enough for everyone.
